It contains many rare and hidden items Stardew Valley, but one of the hardest to track down is the Ancient Seed. As the name suggests, these seeds are needed to grow Ancient Fruit. This is part of several packages in the museum, can be used as paint, and is a good gift for many villagers. It goes without saying that this seed is quite valuable, but you won't find it on the shelves of Pierre's shop or JojaMart. Obtaining Ancient Seeds is a bit difficult, but we have a few methods you can use.

How to get Ancient Seeds?

There are several ways to collect Ancient Seeds, but some are better than others.

The lowest chance of obtaining Ancient Seeds is by placing crops in the Seed Generator. This will increase the chance that the seed you get here is an Ancient Seed by 0.5%.

A slightly better method is to visit the Traveling Cart, where you will have a 1.26% chance of having Ancient Seeds in stock for anywhere between 100 and 1,000 gold.

If you want a guaranteed way to get Ancient Seeds, the best way is to donate Ancient Seed Artifacts to the museum. If you do this, Gunther will give you regular Ancient Seeds that you can plant as a reward, as well as the recipe to make them yourself. Ancient Seed Artifacts can be found at excavation spots in the Coal Core Forest, Quarry, or Mountain, or in Artifact Treasures and Fishing Treasure Chests. Additionally, Grubs, Cave Flies, Bugs, and Mutant Flies have a very small chance of dropping one when defeated.

Once you have Ancient Seeds, plant them and wait 28 days for them to mature; this will give you an Ancient Fruit every week. You can then use this Ancient Fruit with the Seed Generator to make more seeds if needed.
