Xbox is going all out for Pride Month this year with a number of deals and partnerships. This includes making tell me whyThe decision-making narrative game about twins coping with their childhood traumas is free for June.

You can get it starting today tell me why for free on Xbox consoles and Xbox or Windows PC Steam. The game can also be played with an Xbox Game Pass subscription.

Developed by Don't Nod Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios, the game follows twins Tyler and Alyson, who return to their hometown in Alaska to unravel their childhood memories and more accurately remember what caused their mother's death. In traditional Don't Nod style, it has a supernatural twist where twins have a psychic link and can view memories by interacting with objects.

tell me why It received a lot of attention after its release in 2020 for its depiction of LGBTQ+ themes. For example, Tyler is a transgender man, and most of the flashbacks and revelations involve his family's reaction. Even though there's a lot of trauma in his back story, the game handles it sensitively and rarely resorts to transphobia as a plot device. The developers also consulted transgender people, including Tyler's voice actor August Black, to create the character.

Outside of the game Don't Nod and Xbox Game Studios published an FAQ It's a film that explores details about how indigenous people are portrayed, as well as questions potential actors might have about LGBTQ+ elements of the story.

If you don't usually play video games, this month is great to try. It is relatively short (only around 10 hours) and easy to play. You play as a twin and mostly move around, talking to other people and making decisions through dialogue. There are multiple endings, so it's replayable. This is just one of many great games you can play for Pride Month.

Xbox has a lot more planned this month. The company also announced a partnership with the Trevor Project, a well-known non-profit organization that provides resources to LGBTQ+ young adults and teens with their safety teams.
